February 2015 Update

Hello, everyone and welcome to February’s update! It may be late in the February game, but we made it!

February has been a very busy month full of progress, setbacks and transitions for us on the AH team. Brian has been drawing at a ridiculously impressive pace and is already working on the third page from the second scene (that’s the 11th page total so far). We set a personal goal in January to have the entire first issue of Aeolian Hope done this year, and at this pace it looks like he’ll make mincemeat out of that resolution!

So that’s the awesome progress that’s been made – now for the transition. Our digital editor and letterer, Sal from HaloFanForLife, will be consolidating his role into a consultant position in order to better focus on dealing with some urgent issues that have cropped up in his life. We are sorry for his troubles and wish him the very best of luck in tackling them, but are grateful that he has agreed to continue being a consultant on the project. Sal has already provided a wealth of invaluable guidance and we know that this will only continue as the project grows.

In the meantime, my better half and all-around super heroine, Autumn will be taking on the role of digital editing and lettering. She is extremely talented, energetic and driven and we are thrilled to have her skill set on Aeolian Hope. She has already started working on it and the very first piece is already done – a proper banner for our website with the series’ title and taglines (which you should see now at the top of this page!). Next she begins work on the cover for Issue # 1 and from there dives right into putting page 1 together! At this early stage, we are roughly estimating the first scene’s completion (and thus posting) to be around the end of March. By the time we post our March update we’ll certainly have a much more accurate idea, so be sure to check back!

Well that’s all for this month. For everyone who’s checked out our page so far, we cannot overstate how grateful we are for your interest and patience. We hope you continue to come back as this special story begins to unfold. See you in March!

And here’s this month’s preview art piece – it hasn’t been cleaned or touched up in Photoshop yet, it’s just the raw scan. This panel comes from early in scene two. If you’ve already checked out our Characters page then you probably have a good idea of who you’re looking at.
